What geographic area does the East Cape Guild serve?
We serve local high school and college-bound students from Cabo Pulmo to south, El Cardonal to north and El Triunfo to the East.
Are donations tax-deductible?
The East Cape Guild is a member of the International Community Foundation. This US-based foundation enables the Guild to offer a US tax deduction for your cash donation. ICF accepts and invests funds on behalf of the Guild (less a small charge for administration or credit card charges). To make a tax-deductible donation, click the ``Donate Now`` button at the top of the page, and select the ICF option.
Why are scholarships provided for high school?
The Mexican government provides free education only through the 9th grade. The costs then become the responsibility of the family. With the annual costs to attend high school approaching $500, many students are not able to continue. The students we fund must demonstrate financial need as well as academic achievement.
Other than donating, how else can I get involved?
You can help these local students by becoming a member or by attending any or all the events held every year. Fundraising events, in addition to being fun and a great way to meet others in the community, are a major way the Guild raise money to fun scholarships.
